Dara reports:

"The first episode of the TV Series The United States of Tara reached this side of the pond last night.  The daughter of the family appeared in a lovely plaid pleated skirt with netting early in the episode and was then the lead dancer in a ballet.  Her costume had
lovely multiple layers of skirt, as had the other ballet dancers. There's no particular reason to think that pettis will feature in
further episodes but this one was thrilling.  Can't find any clips or stills unfortunately."

Several have responded to Sugarbarre's initial posting on 20 August
of the starlets on their leaning boards...

Karen K. seems to have found the complete answer:

"Since we already had the names of 4 of the ladies in that photo, I thought I'd look around the Internet and see if there was another copy of that
picture out there with more information. I found another photo of the ladies in the Life Magazine archive. It included the following caption:

'Actresses June Allyson, Joan Collins, Dolores Gray, Ann Sheridan, Ann Miller, Joan Blondell, Agnes Moorehead and Barbara Jo Allen resting between scenes during filming of You Can't Run Away From It.'  However, it appears the archive isn't completely correct. The movie they all starred in was
actually called The Opposite Sex. (1956)"

Danny feels she needs to be spanked for being disobedient. Of course, he can't and would never spank her, which makes for a funny bit. While she lies over his lap her luscious pettis burst out like a beautiful flower. This scene is probably from
one of the DVD sets out."

Lindsey writes: "Just to confirm Ken R's guess, this episode is indeed available on DVD. It's called 'Linda's Giant,'

"Buntonjoe" points out this riotous take on a Funny Thing Happened to Me on the Way
to the Forum
tune.

"From the Dean Martin Show...I must say this is quite captivating.  (Dean Martin had a lot of this going on back then.  As a matter of fact,
I recall NBC in general had a number of shows featuring the French maid look.  NBC had a show in 1980 called 'The Big Show,' and I remember quite well the female dancers being clad in very fetching FM costumes that must've taken a lot of time to construct; quite elaborate they were.  But one NBC show in particular back in 1973 still haunts my memory: It was the 'NBC Follies,' and one episode featured Sally Struthers and a cast of lovelies prancing around the stage in FM costumes.  Try as I might, I have not happened upon any salvaged video showing Sally in that skit.  Dang, she was adorable!  As I write this, again NBC...'Laugh In' had quite a bit going on, too.
One of the first installments from 1968 had Sally Fields and the other gals from the show doing the FM dance routine.  She was adorable, too, as were the others such as Goldie Hawn.  Any help in finding these would be appreciated."
