We are confused:

Apparently, according to the IMDB, it was not Sophia Loren in the film "Bread, Love and Dreams" ('Pane, amore e fantasia"),
wherein the song
Mambo Italiano is featured, according to several visitors (film contains petticoat visuals). So, how do we reconcile this?

Rikki video: Great 50s Dina Shore commercial

"That dress is to swoon over for sure.  Makes her waist look like about 22".  She must be wearing a black crinoline as we
don't see any white peeking out when she twirls or sits.  Cars were great back in '59, but especially were the dresses."

Sissy Dahli:

"Here's nice clip of Lena Horne, in a lovely petti-ed dress, performing 'The Lady is a Tramp', from Two Girls and a Sailor (1944)
The lady had an amazing set of pipes and a great fashion sense!"

Nice pose

From Abby Rhodes

Yesterday, we posted a link to an Era Groucho Marx Show.
Denise
has sent this nice stillclip, showing her parting petti shot

BB Bloomer adds:

"The beautiful actress wearing the gorgeous dress is named Marie Gomez.
She played the role of Chiquita in the movie The Professionals (1966), directed by Richard Brooks
No doubt we all prefer to see her wearing such a beautiful bouffant dress than dressed like a cow-girl!!"

Notice from Sheryl T:

I've gotten word that someone is working on a dance project with a professional dancing girl in LA; they're collaborating to do a couple of calypso/island
music style dances, but the outfit is a sundress accompanied by a petticoat. There will be lots of skirt swishing and petticoat showing to your enjoyment;
the final project is destined for YouTube when it's completed.

If you or any of your followers would like to contribute to this project during its duration, she'll be glad to dance to a song of your choosing in her sundress/petticoat outfit for a donation of $25 (per song). Each song that she dances to will be uploaded to YouTube for free upon its completion.

You may contact me at sheryltheauthor@outlook.com  if you're interested in this project for further details.

"East Berlin shop, showing that things were not totally bad in the DDR. Buying the

25 Ostmarks per day that tourists had to exchange crossing from the West."

Two yummy Era ads!

From Crinolyn

Donna Dea:

"I just found this episode for an old You Bet Your Life  episode from 1960.  At about  9 minutes in, behold a gorgeous girl in a gorgeous dress with
pettis.  Especially check out the very end, where the elated girl, after winning a lot of money, leaps for joy, and we can see her beautiful white petti.
These scenes from the actual period are very difficult  to find!"
